Your First New Lens

With so many new photographers in the club and Christimas so near I thought that a basic primer on lens would be in order. What is beyond your kit lens? Well..... many, many options.

If you are like most of us your first new DSLR camera came as a kit. By that I mean it was a body that came along with one or two good basic lens. Most of these kits lens do a great job but they are not the best lens in your manufacturer's stable. Your kit lens cover the bases cheaply but if you are going to go into photography more deeply, you'll want better glass.
