2010 US Junior Olympics Photos Posted

For all of you that were not able to make it to this years US Junior Olympics in Presque Isle, check out the photo galleries.  We have lots of photos posted that really show just about every aspect of the Olympics.  There are photos of the opening and closing ceremonies. There are photos of athletes competing, athletes celebrating, and some of the pain that they experienced.  There are photos of athletes hamming it up, there are photos of the support teams, as well as the volunteers that helped make all this happen.  Have a look and enjoy.

2010 US Junior Olympics - What a Week!

I just wanted to say thanks to all those that made it possible for The Aroostook f-stops Camera Club to be part of the media presence at the 2010 US Junior Olympics in Presque Isle.  We may not have been "official" media, but we did our part in documenting the event.  Many thanks to Tom Shay, without him I feel the club would be dead in the water, thanks to Patti Crooks for obtaining parking passes at the venue, and thank you to Patti, Tom and Nancy Theriault for their olympic sized effort in putting together the slideshow presentation at the Aroostook Centre Mall Wednesday night, it was truly a big hit!.  It was amazing to see these young athletes and their support teams drawn to this media presentation, the looks on their faces and overheard comments validated our efforts photographing this event.

I personally had a great time photographing and interacting with all that were at the Junior Olympics.  This had to be one of my all time best vacations.  Thanks again!

ps.  watch the videos Tom posted below, these are a great recap of the week.

Been Busy!

Sorry there hasn't been to much activity up here lately, some of us  have been busy with the Junior Olympics out at the Nordic Heritage Center.... getting lots of photographs... lots!

I'm not sure if and we we can show these as Mike (Northern Maine Photo) has rights to the photographs for some time, at least untill he reclaims the expenses for doing the work, we have to honor that.  BUT here are a couple of videos of what has been happening.

We were all over the course for the most part taking pictures.   Spectator access was excellent.  It was EXCELLENT practice.
