Cannon Rebal 2Ti, a Kiss or a D-550?

I wanted to make an entry here about a camera that I got to handle and use last night that was surprising easy to use and seemed to be quite a nice camera.

A few weeks ago a friend asked me about buying a camera. I did the usual talk about the different manufacturers and what I understand each makes strength was. She had previously owned a Cannon film camera and had two lens, one of which was still in good condition. It made the most sense to stick with the Cannon line but it wasn't clear what model she should choose.
