Bill Gekas

Bil Gekas - "Girl wihout a peal earring" - Used with PermissionToday was a good day for exploring. It wasn't that I spent much time at it, actually only a few minutes. But what I found I've been sharing with friends and family all day.

I started off by exploring 500px what you might call a modern and updated version of Flickr, generally more upscale I think. I've been hearing about it for some time and don't like to talk about these sites unless I've actually created an account and worked with it for some time.

So why am I talking about it so soon... Well I couldn't help myself. I almost immediately ran into Bill Gekas' page and was simply blown away by his work. Bill lives in Melborune Austrailia and has been shooting for a bit over ten years, from what I can gather from his page.

I almost immediately emailed him and asked for permission to use a photograph of his in this blog as an introducion. He was most gracious and gave us a "thumbs up" to do so.

The first photograph had my jaw on the desktop, it is still bruised! LOL. But it did not stop there. Take the time and visit Bill at 500px or his personal site above. I think you will really enjoy his work.

The only regret is that the Melborne he lives in wasn't actually in Florida. I suggested to him that if he ever gets to the States he should look us up and head our way.

Thanks Bill!
