The Forth at Limestone

Tom S. Bruce came up with the idea for a photography walk out at Limestone for the forth of July fireworks and it was fun. We met Nancy T. there too and the three of us got front row seats practically underneath the show requiring us to use our wide angle lenses. Let us know if you were there and we missed you!
The crowds were not bad at all, possibly due to the threat of rain in the area, something that an umbrella took care of easily for the few minutes. By the time the show started things were just right. They did start the show a bit early though as you'll see in our photographs.
We were all trying different shutter speeds, f-stops and adjusting white balances to see what would work. Nothing I did went bad, meaning that just about any setting resulted in a shot worth looking at. It was pretty easy and fun.
Put the camera on a tripod. Turn your image stabilization off, set the f-stop about midway, varied the shutter speed from 5 to 30 seconds... or do the Bulb thing. We tried various white balances from shadow to tungsten, the bright blue backgrounds and that was it.
I'm sure Bruce and maybe Nancy will have their galleries up today so check back in. I put mine up last night about mid-night under GALLERIES.... PHOTOGRAPHY WALKS....
Enjoy.
